Welcome, my name is Mary, I am a professionally qualified and experienced Sport Massage Therapist in Dunfermline, West Fife. Having undertaken training specializing in a variety of different therapies including, Sports Massage, Remedial Massage and Reflexology. You can be assured of beneficial and relaxing treatments.

My home based treatment is room is about half a mile from Dunfermline city centre. Parking is available very close to my house.

At a first appointment a health questionnaire is completed to ensure effective and safe treatment.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a soft tissue treatment often used by athletes to ease muscular tension or as part of their training program to reduce injury risks. You don’t need to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage.

Some of the superb benefits include speedy recovery from intensive training, improved flexibility, boosts recovery during rehabilitation from sports injury, prevention of scar tissue build up, reduced DOMs (delayed muscle soreness), helps prepare psychologically for competition.

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage is helpful for chronic soft tissue conditions such as back pain, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, repetitive strain injuries and muscular aches and pains.

Reflexology

Therapeutic Massage

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a soft tissue therapy which works on and improves the myofascial system which covers our body structures from head to toe. The fascia gives balance, tension and stability to maintain our posture, supporting our skeletal system.

Benefits include relaxation, helps lengthen tight muscles and break down adhesions which restrict movement.

Suitable for repetitive strain conditions, sports people, muscular pain and tension, postural problems.

Hot Stone Massage

Soothing, comforting and warming Hot Stone Massage relaxes mind, body and spirit. Smooth basalt stones are used in hot stone therapy due to their heat retaining properties.

The warmth relaxes muscles and allows a massage which is more effective and intense.

Some of the benefits include deeper relaxation, continuous heat therapy, boosts circulation, improves sleep, reduces symptoms of stress and softens tight muscles.

    Pilates

    Pilates is a form of low impact body conditioning. It can improve flexibility, strengthen muscles and improve posture co-ordination and balance. The exercises target the core muscles and work the whole body.

    Before your first class a health form will need to be completed. Check with your doctor before taking part if you have any pre-existing medical conditions.

    Deep Tissue Massage

    Deep Tissue Massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and may be helpful for chronic muscular pain and tension. It has been associated with positive benefits for lower back pain.

Pilates- improve flexibility, core strength & mobility

Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th Century. It is a low impact form of body conditioning which boosts physical and mental wellbeing, improving body awareness.

The exercise can be modified to the individual making it an ideal place to start, if you have not tried it before.

The beginners class starts with the basic fundamentals learning how to engage and build core stability. It works the whole body strengthening and stretching muscles.
